Vane and Jitu

Vane: In February 2012 I have completed Ten years of serving the Lord’s purposes through YWAM Madrid.  I came here in 2002 and completed Discipleship Training School (DTS).

I went to India for four week outreach, worked and ministered Children at risk. I was a part of the first outreach team that was sent to India. Since then we as YWAM Madrid did not stop taking teams to minister least favorable and underprivileged in India.
First three years I worked with DTS mentoring young people, administration, and leading and co-leading teams. My vision is to reach the poor and needy with the love of Christ and defend their cause. I realized that the effective strategy would be getting prepared for it.

During 2004-2008, I completed my Social Work studies in the University. Still, I continued working with YWAM. This training sharpened me in my call. During this time I pioneered a project to mobilize Spanish young people for mission. Throughout these years, I coordinated this project. I mobilized youth who wanted to experience solidarity in underdeveloped countries. They give their summer vacations to travel with us and serve as volunteers. This has been a life-transforming experience for all of them.

Other than this international focus, I was also involved in ministering on local and national levels. I was part of evangelism efforts, assisting, and participating in the annual national summer outreach program called MOLA. I worked with the ministry of Hospitality. Through this, we can offer short-term accommodation for servants of God who are traveling through Madrid.

This period was invaluable. It was the most important and productive time of my life. God has transformed me into a completely new woman. I have discovered my identity and destiny in HIM. I have developed my gifting and capacities. HE helped me to achieve my dreams. Now I am full-time mother and full-time working on the vision that the Lord has given us.

Jitu: After completing my DTS in 1994 in India, I realized God’s call to be a missionary. I began serving with YWAM. My focus was on Church planting through mercy work among the urban poor. I also worked with Street Children in India. We pioneered a work among the street children,  holistic community development project and church planting in Hyderabad, India.

This experience helped me understand the need for professional studies to be effective as a mission worker. So, I studied a Master in Social Work. This gave me an opportunity to work with International Spanish NGO Intervida. I was involved in pioneering and coordinating holistic developmental projects among rural poor, tribal and their Children.
During this time, my heart for Children at risk inspired me. I started Hope of Glory foundation, a NGO with Christian values. The foundation focused on rescuing and restoring Children at risk and street children in Pune, India. Reconciling them to Christ the hope of glory, in whom these Children are finding fullness of life.
The wish to continue rescuing children at risk of war and conflict motivated me to go to Spain in 2005. I went there to study M.Phil in Peace, Conflict and Development studies.

We wish to see Institute of Transformation and Social Justice. It is a training center committed to putting faith in action for social justice. It is also dedicated to reconciliation and transformation of the society. We seek to inspire hope and build a movement for social justice and to transform individuals & communities.

Jitu is a member of the leadership team of YWAM Madrid. He is the Transformation Ministry leader. Jitu is also the founder and vice-president of Asociación cien por cien vida.
